Miami-based writer, critic, poet and educator Jen Karetnick is the award-winning author of nine books, including the forthcoming Mango: Tour de Force (University Press of Florida). Her food-travel work has appeared widely both in print and online in publications including Chile Pepper, Continental Inflight, Endless Vacation, Florida Travel & Life, ForbesTraveler.com, Fodor’s, Gayot.com, The Miami Herald, Mobil Travel Guides, The New York Times, Relish, Southern Living and Vegas Player. She works as the dining critic for MIAMI Magazine; a columnist for Biscayne Times; and the Creative Writing Director for Miami Arts Charter School, where she teaches poetry, fiction, non-fiction and playwriting to grades 6-12. Jen lives on the last acre of a historic mango plantation with her husband, a neurologist; two children; three dogs; four cats; and fifteen mango trees.
